New Tee Boxes at BCC!
New Forward Tees for Juniors, Senior Women, and Families
Good evening,
The BCC Board of Directors has decided to add additional Tee Boxes to the course. The new Forward Tees are the direct results of membership feedback we received during our monthly board meetings. The new Forward Tees can be used by any member, but we are targeting our Junior Members (Age 13 and under), Family Members, and Senior Ladies for these Forward Tees.
Below is some more information about the Forward Tees:
- No dirt will be moved, and no new tee boxes will be constructed. Instead, we will be placing a Tee Marker in the ground. In most cases the tee marker will be placed in the fairway and flush with the ground so not to impede the mowing operations at the course.
- The new tees will have a handicap rating. This will allow our members to post their score in the USGA GHIN app (See below for more information about the Forward Tee Handicap and a comparison to the Red Tees).
- Information about the USGA GHIN System and terminology:
- Website to the USGA GHIN System
- Handicap Index – Is different than your Course Handicap/Playing Handicap. The Handicap Index provides a portable representation of your playing ability at the course you are currently playing. Click here for more information on the Handicap Index.
- USGA Handicap FAQ – This website has some great information about Playing Handicap, Course Handicap, How to Post Scores, etc.
- Who can use the Forward Tees for handicap:
- Junior Golfers – Any child under the age of 13 and has just begun learning the game of golf.
- Senior Women – Any women golfer that is 70 years or older. The use of the forward tees in tournaments and ladies league will be determined by the respected tournament committees and ladies league.
- Families – Any families that are teaching their kids the game of golf and are looking for a fun family activity.
- The Red Tees on hole 15 that are currently in the forward position will be moved back to their original location and the Forward Tees will replace them. This will ensure the Red Tee handicap is accurate when posting.
- The Forward Tees will have a total yardage of 4,058 yards. Below is a breakdown by hole:

The below chart compares the New Forward Tees and the Current Red Tees. To use the chart, you need to look up your Handicap Index. Your Handicap Index will then give you your Course Handicap. In most cases people that use the Forward Tees will lose on average 8 Handicap Strokes*.
Example: A 20.1 Handicap Index will be a 12 Course Handicap from the Forward Tees and a 20 Course Handicap from the Red Tees.
The New Forward Tees: Course Rating: 64.2 - Slope Rating: 112 - Par: 72 |
Current Red Tees: Course Rating: 69.8 - Slope Rating: 125 - Par: 72 |
